Privacy policy

The short version
We never receive your documents. Your file is read from your disk into your browser's memory, processed there, and handed back to you as a download. It is not transmitted to us, so we cannot read it, store it, lose it or be compelled to produce it. That is true of every tool on this site.
The two AI tools are the one exception, and they ask first. AI Summarizer and Translate PDF send the text your browser extracts — never the file, never its images — to Folia Cloud, because a model that size cannot run in a browser. Both require Folia Tools Pro, both show exactly what will be sent before anything leaves, and the detail is in Folia Cloud AI below. If you do not use them, nothing you do here is ever uploaded.

Advertising
No advertising is being shown on this site yet. Google's ad library is loaded on these pages so that Google can review the site and decide whether to approve it, which is a step that has to happen before any ad can run — but no ad unit exists, so nothing is displayed and nothing is sold. If the site is approved, this section will be replaced by a full description of what runs, and visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will be asked before anything is stored on their device.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional and is never required for the free tools. If you do, this site asks
api.foliadocs.com whether your account has Folia Tools Pro, so that subscribers
stop seeing ads and can use the AI tools. Only that answer is read — not your desktop plan,
your licence keys or your billing history. Your Folia account is covered by the
Folia privacy policy.
Optional downloads
Some tools need extra data to work offline on your device. OCR, for example, needs the recognition pack for the language you choose. English and Korean are already included; any other language is fetched once from a public open-source model host and then cached in your browser. We always ask before downloading anything, and we tell you the size first. Only the model is fetched — your document is not involved.
Folia Cloud AI — the two tools that send anything
Exactly two of the tools here run on Folia Cloud: AI Summarizer and Translate PDF. Both require a signed-in Folia Tools Pro subscription, and both ask before the first byte leaves your machine. If you never use them, nothing you do on this site is ever uploaded.
- What is sent: the text your browser extracts from the PDF, in sections. The PDF file itself is never uploaded, and neither are its images.
- Who processes it: Cloudflare, Inc. acts as our processor. The text is handled by Cloudflare Workers and Workers AI, and is not sent to any other third party.
- Where: on Cloudflare's global network, which means processing may happen outside your own country, including outside Korea and the EEA. For Korean users this is a cross-border transfer under PIPA, and using the tool is your consent to it.
- How long: only for the length of the request. Each section is processed and the text is discarded when the response is returned. It is not written to any database, not retained in logs, and never used to train any model.
- What we do keep: the number of credits the job spent, against your account. Not the text, not the file name, not the document.
If you would rather nothing left your machine at all, every other tool on this site does the
same class of work in your browser — and the two AI tools are the only entries in
connect-src that could carry document text, which you can verify in this page's
security headers.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Who is responsible for your data
Folia is operated by Morn Tithsinara, from Cambodia. For anything on this page — a question, a request, or a complaint — write to [email protected] and a person will answer.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, that is the data controller for the small amount of personal data described above. Because the tools were built so that your documents never leave your device, that amount really is small: for most visitors it is a consent choice stored in their own browser and nothing else.
Your rights
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA apply, you have rights of access, correction, deletion and objection over personal data. In practice we hold almost nothing about you: your documents are never sent to us, and the only identifiable data we could hold is a Folia account, if you have one. Write to [email protected] and we will answer.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above. The core commitment — that
your document file is processed on your device and never uploaded, and that the two AI tools
send only extracted text and only after you agree — is architectural, not a setting. The
site's connect-src header enforces it, so it is not something we can quietly
reverse.
