The service
Folia Tools is a website providing PDF tools. Most of them run inside your own browser; two AI tools run on Folia Cloud and require a Folia Tools Pro subscription. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.
What is free, and what is not
All but two of the tools here are free to use, for personal and commercial work alike, with no sign-up, no watermark and no usage cap. You keep all rights to your own documents — we never receive them, so we could not claim anything over them even if we wanted to.
The two Folia Cloud AI tools (AI Summarizer and Translate PDF) require a paid Folia Tools Pro subscription and consume its credit allowance. They send the text of your document to Folia Cloud for processing, with your consent, obtained before anything is sent. Folia Tools Pro is a separate product from Folia for Desktop: neither purchase includes the other, and cancelling one does not affect the other. Subscriptions renew until cancelled and can be cancelled at any time from your Folia account.
Your responsibilities
You agree not to use this site to:
- process documents you have no right to process;
- attempt to remove protection from a document you do not own — the Unlock tool requires the password and cannot break encryption;
- interfere with the site, or use it to distribute malware.
No warranty
The tools are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. We have tested them extensively and the same engine ships in our paid desktop product, but PDF is a large and irregular format and no tool handles every file perfectly.
Keep your originals. Every tool produces a new file and never modifies the one on your disk, so keeping the original costs you nothing and protects you completely. This matters most for one-way operations such as Flatten and Redact.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Folia is not liable for any loss of data, profit or business arising from your use of this site. Because processing happens entirely on your own device, we have no access to your files and no ability to recover them.
One case deserves naming plainly: if you protect a PDF with a password and lose that password, the file cannot be recovered — not by you, and not by us. The encryption is real and there is no master key.
Advertising
This site is funded by advertising. Ads are supplied by third parties and their content is not ours; we do not endorse advertised products.
Paid services
Folia Cloud and Folia for Desktop are separate paid products governed by the Folia terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
